A Powerful Alternative for Couples
Intensive therapy offers a unique and highly effective way of working through relationship challenges. It provides substantial benefits for couples facing a variety of situations:
- Busy schedules: If you and your partner have demanding lives and find it difficult to commit to regular weekly therapy sessions, an intensive provides a focused opportunity to do a significant piece of therapeutic work over a few concentrated days.
- Crisis or urgent change: If your relationship is at a breaking point and you need rapid, transformative change, an intensive can help shift your relationship toward enhanced communication, understanding and emotional connection.
- Enriching your relationship: If you and your partner are generally happy but feel there’s room for deeper intimacy and closeness, an intensive allows you to dedicate time and energy to enhancing your bond away from the distractions of everyday life.
- Avoiding long-term therapy: If the thought of months of weekly sessions feels overwhelming or impractical, an EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) Intensive can be an efficient and effective alternative.
What is EFT Therapy?
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a proven, research-backed approach that helps couples break free from destructive cycles of conflict and defensiveness. It guides partners to uncover the deeper, vulnerable emotions behind their reactions, enabling more compassionate, authentic communication. As a result, trust is rebuilt, emotional wounds heal, and couples create more collaborative, connected ways of relating to one another.
What’s Included in an EFT Intensive?
An EFT Intensive is a customized, short-term therapy package tailored to your specific relationship challenges and goals. It includes:
- Complimentary initial consultation (50 minutes): This free session allows us to meet, understand your challenges, and discuss whether an intensive is the right fit for you. Afterward, each of you will receive a personalized workbook to reflect on your goals and areas of difficulty.
- Individual sessions (90 minutes each): We’ll meet individually to explore your personal histories, strengths, vulnerabilities, and the dynamics that shape your relationship.
- Therapy sessions (up to 3 hours per day for 3 days): These intensive sessions will focus on the key areas that need attention, with flexibility to adjust based on your needs.
- Post-Intensive follow-up (joint session): After the intensive, we’ll have a follow-up session to assess progress, consolidate gains, and discuss any ongoing resources or strategies for continued growth.
If you think this intensive approach could benefit your relationship, I’d love to arrange a complimentary conversation to explore how we can work together. For more information on how I work with couples, click here.
